Anti-Snoring Appliances
Snoring can be a major problem for many couples, and previous treatments have often been unsuccessful or involved surgery. However, there is now a new treatment involving a special appliance that has had very good results in reducing, or eliminating snoring.
Snoring is caused by relaxation of the soft tissues at the back of your throat during sleep. This partially blocks the airway causing the tissues to vibrate when breathing - hence the 'snoring' noise.
The anti-snore appliance works by keeping your airway open during sleep, which reduces vibration of the soft tissues.
The appliance is quite comfortable to wear, and is made by taking impressions of your teeth which are then sent to a technician. The appliance is ready for fitting after 10 days.
Please note that these anti-snoring appliances are not suitable if you have jaw pain (TMJ Dysfunction) or full dentures.
